The rainiest months of the year in Las Vegas are January and February when the usually experience averages well below an inch.

Two weather phenomena that are found in the Las Vegas area that are considered to be dangerous are winds and floods. Winds can occur any time of the year and can gust upward of 90 miles an hour. The worst of these winds are usually experienced in the flat open spaces. These winds should be taken serious and considered when taking part in outdoor activities. The other weather that is considered to be dangerous is floods. Rain that is considered dangerous in Las Vegas would not be considered dangerous elsewhere. But because the ground is not absorbent and Las Vegas is in a valley you experience run off from the mountains and the streets can quickly become rivers. In such conditions it is best to stay home and keep of the roads.
